Private Pilots Licence (PPL) licence renewals (Competency check according to the CAA test form) are a biennial event, with the “Currency” paperwork to CAA in between. Two years is a long time in between check-rides for some Instructor to evaluate your level of proficiency. Hence, it is in your best interest for a thorough check, and I assure you a happy learning experience at the same time!

It is up to the client whether we do the minimum required, or if they wish to broaden their horizon a bit and try some extra stuff. It amazes me how many tests I have done, and the client has never, for example, done a spiral dive, or even a proper spin (& recovery)!

Adding a new type to your licence is always a good way of continuing to learn – if this is of interest to you, have a look at the more than 75 types on my licence, and let me help you complete your conversion to one, or maybe more than one!
